Question

Just a quick question for you moms out there.
Did your husband buy you a birthing gift?
Just curious. I think a lot of husbands don't buy them.

  1. Dave got me a necklace with Lily's name on it. I wear it everyday. I didn't actually get it until she was a couple months old. But he showed me a picture of what he had got. It was a nice gesture, but just having the baby with you is more than enough of a present. You don't really need or even want anything else after that!!

  2. Nope. He just brought me the usual flowers and balloons to my hospital room after the delivery.

  3. No immediate gift...however... after I recovered I went clothes shopping (and bra shopping) on HIS credit card. Loved it. In my opinion, much more useful than any disposable delivery room gift.

  4. he sure did - tiffany blue boxes have been my post-delivery gifts twice (necklaces both times) and this time a beautiful ring from Sundance jewelry - I'm actually going to be blogging about it soon, so stay tuned!

  6. He bought me a bathrobe & slippers for the hospital with my first and for the second he got a gift to the sibling from the baby. But he is always really good about letting me go shopping for new bra's and other things that changed size.

  7. Mike laughed at me when I told him about "push presents" and said "Isn't the baby your gift?" I kind of wanted to hit him.
    ...actually, I still do. ;-D

  8. Scott learned how to weld gold in school. I stopped wearing my wedding ring the last few weeks. He took it to school and welded me a ring that matches my platinum one that can go between my two bands. It was a thanks for putting me through school and giving me a son present. I seriously started crying when he gave it to me. PS all this talk of bras... they are NOT optional. Go get one if you need one! I highly recommend the Lactation Station on Highland Drive for breastfeeding stuff. The breastfriend pillow is a must in my book. It is similar to a boppie.
