Swimsuit Makeover

My cute niece Ella was getting ready to get rid of her old one piece swimsuit. It was getting too small (her torso is getting longer) so my niece Kelli and I decided to give her swimsuit a makeover.
It only took about 20 minutes to remake.
Here's how we did it:
First we cut the swimsuit. We cut it about 3/4 of the way down from the top. Ella wanted it to be more of a 2 piece rather than a bikini.
On the bottoms we measured about 2 and 1/2 inches up from the ruffle seam. Then Pin and sew.
It can be a little tricky sewing on swimsuits so we made sure to use lots of pins and went slow.

We had Ella try on the top and measured the length she wanted. Then more pinning and sewing.
We also put a little ruching on the top (not shown in the following picture) for a little extra detail.

Don't you think Ella looks cute in her new swimsuit?

  3. I've got more outgrown clothes for you and Kel to make-over. She loves her "new" suit and being the model!
