Random Thoughts

- I need to be better about helping Brody learn. He is pretty good about knowing the alphabet and recognizing letters, he can spell his name and count a little past ten. He knows all of his colors and most shapes but I could be better about helping him develop these things more. I could also read to him more. I think I should set aside time each day to have little mommy preschool with him.

- I am really excited to go see a Cardinals baseball game in September!

- I have been an aunt since I was a little over two years old and I have to say it is one of the coolest things! I have 17 nieces and 17 nephews. Next year I will be a great aunt too!

- Our summer has been full of fun activities. We have been to Cowabunga Bay, The Church History Museum, the Zoo, a parade, bike rides, playing at the park, swimming, Sweets candy factory tour, visited our cabin, watched a Bees game, watched Travis play softball, played on a giant slip n slide, saw Brave, watched fireworks, played with side walk chalk, went to Natural History Museum, had a preschool Olympics. We hope the rest of our summer is full of more fun activities!

- I like red nail polish better than any other color of polish.

  2. If Brody knows that much already, you're doing something right! Keep giving him great experiences and he will be great.

  3. I am a teacher and there are great videos that you can get your son at Target by Leap Frog (The Letter Factory, Talking Words Factory, Story Book Factory, Math Adventure to the Moon). These are excellent shows for teaching him skills. My sons loved them and they learned so much from them. It helped when I needed a "me moment or 30".

But I get it about doing better. After being with other kids all day, the last thing I want to do is read more books. We do pretty ok, but some days it is tough for me to power through.

I am sure that you are a wonderful mom...even admitting that you want to do better makes you wonderful mom! Good luck!
