No Sugar!

Last year when I made my list of 31 things to do before I turn 32 I decided I want to try to go one month with out sugar and sweets. If you know me, you know how hard this is going to be for me.
Tomorrow starts day 1.
I figure I better try and get this done before Easter rolls around and I have no will power.  Who can resist Mini Cabury Eggs?

I can go with out Coke or caffeine easily but if someone puts a Welch's Grape Soda in front of me I can't turn it down. I am like a little kid when I go out to eat, always getting the fruit punch or lemonade. I just love McDonald's Orange Hi-C drink. And don't get me started on cotton candy, Circus Peanuts or Lucky Charms.

What Sweet or sugary treats are you powerless against?

  1. I am so impressed...you can totally do it! My major downfall is the ice cream. Love all of it...but Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey? Oh man...its trouble :) Good luck!

  2. GO Diana!! You can totally do it ... and you're going to feel so much better at the end of the month! Word to the wise (really just from the unlucky), it's easier to cut sugar out of your diet if you cut ALL sugar out. That means no sugar in breads, yogurts, sauces, marinades, dressings ... it's in everything. BUT. While cutting it all out is daunting at first, it's easier to control the cravings, because sugar isn't sneaking into your system unbeknownst to you. Best of luck!!

  4. Wow, what a challenge. Especially before Easter, which is the best Candy Holiday, in my opinion. When I was pregnant I ate packs and packs of Peeps...then my sweet DH brought me some after we had our baby, and they tasted terrible. Silly hormones. Cadbury eggs and sweet fruity cocktails are my calorie problems right now. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

  5. I would have chosen a shorter month--but that's just me. I know--it's only a day or two, but it could make a huge difference on my loved ones. :)

  7. Sadly, I have to bring Walmart into this because they are the only store where I have seen this particular sweet. Envision Chunky Chips Ahoy Oreos. Basically 2 chocolate chip cookies with a frosting between them. Pretty severe, right?

  8. Oh man! I too am a sugar-a-holic! My weaknesses are M&M's and Skinny Cow Ice Cream Bars. Good luck with your endeavor! Maybe someday I'll do something like this, but I'm sure it wouldn't make it a month :)
