What is the best advice your mom gave you?

She was always my biggest fan and has supported me through my highs and lows.

Mother's Day Badge

Ready to make an easy mother's Day badge with crepe paper?
It only takes about 2 minutes and your kids will have fun making them.

Supplies:
One 42" piece of crepe paper
One 5" piece of crepe paper cut as shown below
One paper circle
Glue Dots®
Marker or pen

Step 1. Start at the end of the 42" crepe paper strip and begin folding small pleats. They should be slightly angled so they fan out as shown below. Make sure to hold the folds tight so they don't come undone. This will form into a circle.

Step 2. While still pinching the pleats in place use your free hand to place a few Glue Dots® (or 1 Large Glue Dot®) in the center of the crepe paper circle.

Step 3. Firmly press your paper circle on the Glue Dots®.

Step 4. Using Glue Dots® attach the 5" crepe paper strip to the back of the badge and attach.

Step 5. Personalize the badge with a marker or pen.

Room Service Printables for Mother's Day

Being a mom is seriously the hardest job I've ever had, so when Mother's day comes around I use that day to rejuvenate.  Usually, my husband dotes on me with breakfast in bed, back rubs, and keeping the kids occupied while I get some much needed relaxation.  However, some of our hubbies need a little nudging with creativity.  Not mine of course! :)  This is a guy who decoupaged a box with my kids' faces last year for mother's day without any prompting from me.  He was proud, yet embarrassed to give it to me, because he felt it wasn't up to my quality of crafting.  I absolutely LOVED it, nonetheless.  Just love him!  Anyway, for those hubbies that do need some fresh ideas, hand over these printables and let him have some fun with the kids.

Included in this printable set:

• Room Service for Mom Door Knob Hanger (to be filled out by mom and left on the door)
• "I love my mom because..." Questionnaire (to be filled out/colored in by the kids)
• 5x7 inch mother's day note card

The night before mother's day fill out the door knob hanger and leave it out for all to see.

Then, have the kidlets fill in the blanks on this fun mother's day questionnaire about mommy.  It's a riot to see how kids answer the most simple questions.  Hope your mother's day is relaxing and full of giggles and laughter from the kids' participation.

Felt Flowers for Mother's Day

Moms deserve to wear flowers on Mother's Day, right? So why not give her flowers she can keep forever. Here are three different felt flowers you can make for your mom, mother in law, grandma or even a friend for Mother's Day.

Felt Flower Corsage Tutorial

 Earlier this week I showed you how to make felt flowers so that you can make this corsage.
I made them earlier this year with a group of 10 and 11 year old girls from my neighborhood for Mother's Day.
They are really easy and fun to make.
I think they would be fun for other special occasions like birthdays, graduations, etc.

Okay, let's get started.
You will need: felt flowers (I used 3), felt leaves, a small piece of felt, hot glue gun, scissors and ribbon.

Arrange the flowers on the small piece of felt.
Once you have decided on the arrangement add the felt leaf.
Next you will glue the flowers and leaf to the small piece of felt, using a generous amount of glue.
Let dry.

Tip: glue the flowers one at a time so you won't mess up your arrangement.
Once the glue is dry remove the extra felt by cutting around the flowers. Get as close as you can.

You're almost done, now all you need to do is add two pieces of ribbon to the back side of the corsage.

Now you have a fun corsage!
