Coloring

Turn your family pictures into fun coloring pages.

Step 1.
Find a picture and upload it here

Step 2.
Print your picture

Step 3.
Color your picture any way you want

Don't you think my parents look much better in the bright colors?

UPDATE: I originally posted this back in 2008 and the website has changed since then.
To avoid paying for these pictures some people will right click on the picture turned into a coloring page to save it free of charge. There are also many other services out there that can turn pictures into coloring pages.

  3. That is so clever! Also, I never noticed how much you guys look like your mom. She looks pretty different now. Maybe I am just dense. But you all look similar, I just hadn't figured it out. Yeah, I'll be going now....

  8. You can do the same thing using the most recent version of picasa...there's a "pencil sketch" edit you can do with one click. Then print.

    1. You can print it bigger if you copy and paste onto Word documment and enlarge it as you do pictures.

  15. it prints too small.. (on a mac, right click and save image) and if you want to save the larger version they charge! boo!

  17. For those having trouble, you can do this same thing with photoshop or elements. Probably true of nearly any editing program.

  18. I would also like to point out there is no need of that website to do this. You can do this easily in Ribbet, Photoshop, Gimp and now Microsoft Word 10.

  19. You can also do this now on powerpoint presentation. Check out the artistic features.

  23. Any tips on making it work for mix-race families? Either the Caucasians turn into ghosts with no facial features or the African Americans get big splotchy shadows across their faces.

  24. Tiffanie- I am not a techie person but...I ran into the same problem (though I'm not sure which mix-race we're talking about...my husbands Chinese so he's not super dark...). If you have Photoshop (which I used) you can mess with the contrast settings (after you've sent your pictures through the site she mentions in her post). Tedious if you're doing a zillion pictures but, it worked for me. Or try using the settings in a photo program that you may have. Hope that helps, good luck!

**Thanks to this post I found on Pinterest I am now the coolest sister ever for Christmas presents this year. I made a family coloring book. Thanks for the inspiration!!***

  25. Tiffanie-I ran into the same problem, (my husband's Chinese, so he isn't super dark) depending on what mix-race we're talking about here, it may work differently. I used Photoshop and messed with the contrast settings, etc. You may also want to try the settings on your photo program if you don't have Photoshop. (Sorry, I'm not super tech-savvy, maybe you already tried that). This is after you've sent your loaded pictures through the above-mentioned site btw. Good luck!

DeeDee-Thanks for posting this on your blog. I found it through Pinterest. I made the coolest 'family' coloring books using that site. Thank you thank you!
