It's Just Another Stylin' Sunday

After church we went downtown to see one of the Banksy pieces that was put up earlier in the week, or at least what was left of it.

This is what it looked like before it was cleaned up.

Hopefully we will get up to Park City this week to see more.

Darcy Miller

Did you read about Darcy Miller's exhibit, Family in the February issue of Martha Stewart Living? I really wish I could have been there!
Darcy is the editorial director of Martha Stewart Weddings, she also has a very cool wedding scrapbook for sale (I bought mine a few years ago but it still isn't finished).

Anyways, the party was a display of her scrap boxes, journals, illustrations and other family mementos.

Here are a few of my favorite shadow boxes she designed.

You can see more of her scrap boxes here.

Turn your family pictures into fun coloring pages.

Step 1.
Find a picture and upload it here

Step 2.
Print your picture

Step 3.
Color your picture any way you want

Don't you think my parents look much better in the bright colors?

UPDATE: I originally posted this back in 2008 and the website has changed since then.
To avoid paying for these pictures some people will right click on the picture turned into a coloring page to save it free of charge. There are also many other services out there that can turn pictures into coloring pages.

Esquire Cover

My husband has this design on one of his t shirts. He always gets people commenting about it and asking who it is? As I was reading blogs I came across this. Now I know that it was originally a magazine cover for Esquire.

Art Storage

Isn't this a great way to store your kids art projects? I don't have kids but I think it would be fun to store posters, art, etc.
I love the look of the clean white mailing tubes.

Driving Home

Travis likes to drive, I don't. When we are together he drives. I really like it because I get to see things that I normally wouldn't see because I am focused on the road. Lately I have been taking pictures while he is driving. Here are a few pictures on our drive home from Trolley Square last week.

Do you know the location of the pictures? Okay the first two could be anywhere, but the last one?

Colors Of Life

My friend Lindsey died from cancer about three years ago, since then her mom (Stacy) has been volunteering at The Sharing Place. Stacy is putting together an awesome basket in honour of Lindsey to be auctioned off at The Colors of Life benefit. I just dropped off a few things to put in Lindsey's basket. Stacy showed me some of the things going in the basket. When Lindsey was alive she had the opportunity to meet Niki Taylor. Lindsey LOVED Niki Taylor and when she got sick Niki flew to Salt Lake to meet her. Anyways Niki has sent a few bottles of her perfume and some autographs. I thought that was pretty cool! A bunch of our friends have put some things into the basket that remind us of Lindsey.
I think The Colors of Life will be a fun night! Everyone should go! Did I mention if you go you will be among the first to see the Andy Warhol exhibit at the Utah Museum of fine arts?

Chuck Close

I am getting so excited! In less than 1 month (17 days to be exact) the Boise Art Museum will be exhibiting Chuck Close's work! I fell in love with his work when I saw one of his portraits in San Fransisco years ago and reignited the flame when I saw another portrait at the Met 2 years ago. I have been anticipating this exhibit in Boise for about 2 years now. I cant wait!
