  2. I am in the middle of reading, "The Royals" by Kitty Kelly. A bit scandalous and surprising. But read in small doses. I can't get enough of the royal family. It's a bit of an addiction really. yikes! lol

  3. I used to be an avid reader...at lease one book a week. I've slowed WAY down though and I am lucky to read one book a month.

Your post has inspired me and I am going to start looking for a good book!

My most recent read? Parenting with Love and Logic. I highly recommend it!

  4. Yikes don't read Parenting w/ love & logic. Just read the reviews on that book....here is what one reader said.

From locking toddlers in their rooms to doing absolutely nothing if your child has disciplinary problems at school, from letting them sleep in if they won't get themselves up for school and ignoring emotional breakdowns unless it affects you personally, this book takes insane american independence to the edge.
The authors actually go as far as to say that your child's problems shouldn't be your problems. You shouldn't step in to help your child if there is as much as "20% chance he can fix it himself" and says that if you do, he'll get the message that he is incapable of doing anything himself. Says who?? What hogwash! If my parents ever stepped in for me as a child, to defend, protect, or help out, the message I got was that they cared, and we were a family!
When as parents you act like you don't care, guess what the message is? That you don't care! There's logic for you.
America has gone to the stupid side with all the independence theories and our children are the test animals.

You know, when I was a kid parents who stepped in so little to either help or discipline their children, they were considered negligent. The actions themselves aren't new, just the labels.
