Shirley J BBQ Sauce Cooking Class and Giveaway
A great BBQ is one of those things that just screams summer, and what is a cookout without the perfect sauce?Forget picking up a run-of-the-mill BBQ sauce from the grocery store, impress your guests with a fresh homemade sauce.
Shirley J is hosting a free BBQ sauce cooking class Friday, July 30th at noon. Chef Brian will teach you how to make a variety of grilling sauces using Shirley J BBQ Sauce Mix. You’ll learn how to incorporate fruits (fresh, dried and canned), soft drinks and everyday condiments to make sauces unique to you. Chef Brian will also cover how to use Shirley J BBQ Sauce Mix as a rub and marinade. You don’t want to miss this class.
I have loved using the Shirley J BBQ Sauce Mix, not only is it fast to make but it can be used to make any flavor of grilling and basting sauces. It's a "just add water" BBQ sauce that tastes great as a stand alone sauce or with other flavors. It can even be used as a rub or marinade.I recently made Pulled pork sandwiches with the Shirley J Root Beer BBQ Sauce. It was delicious! I can't wait to learn how to make more grilling sauces.

Sweet's Candy Factory Tour
Last week we made a little trip to the Sweets candy factory tour.
Did you know it takes seven days to make a jelly bean? That is just one of the cool things I learned on the free Sweets candy factory tour.
The tours run Monday through Thursday 9:00 am- 3:30 pm by appointment only.
Allow one hour for the tour and time to shop in the outlet store.
Believe me, You will want to shop in the outlet store.
I may or may not have bought 27 pounds of chocolate covered cinnamon bears.
What? They were a great price!

They are very strict on no bags, outside strollers, cameras, phones, jewelry (even wedding rings) and no open toe shoes.
Don't worry they do provide umbrella strollers and a free bag check.
Oh and everyone has to wear a hair net, even the babies.
Brody didn't mind his hairnet, in fact he left his on long after the tour was over.

We had such a fun time on the tour and will definitely go back!

4th of July
I found these cute free 4th of July printables from Yellow Mums.
They were suppose to be cupcake toppers but I decided to turn them into button pins.
We all wore them to our local Independence day Parade.

Setting up a Custom Domain
A few months ago I switched from blogspot to a dot com, whateverdeedeewants.com
I thought I would show you how to do it. It is super easy!
There are people out there that like Wordpress better and maybe I just don't know better but I have really liked Blogger.
Here's how to make the switch.
1) First you have to have a blog through blogger.
2) From your dashboard click on the settings tab.

3) Then click the publishing tab.
4) That page will say you are publishing on blogspot.com. Below that it will say Switch to: custom domain. Click that link.
This is what you will see.

5) Check your website name availability and then purchase it.
It only costs $10 a year and it comes with google apps which means you get your own cool email address that matches your website.
It takes a 1-3 days for for everything to transition through but don't worry your blog will still be accessible. Once the transition has been made blogger will automatically redirect your readers from blogspot to your dot com.
The only problem I noticed during the transition time is the followers link didn't load but that fixed itself once the transition was complete.
Because Blogger redirects your readers automatically you my want to ask your readers to subscribe to your new feed.
Hope this helps!
