French Dip Sandwich

I made this yummy french dip sandwich last week.
Here are the instructions.

place a buttered hoagie bun on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven for about 4-5 minutes at 400 degrees.

Once the bread is crispy lay some provolone cheese on both sides of the bun.
Layer roast beef to desired thickness.
Top it off with more provolone cheese.
Cook in oven at 400 degrees for 4-5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Heat Au Jus in a small pot, stir in 1/ teaspoon Shirley J Onion Seasoning Mix and let simmer for 5 minutes.

Pour Au Jus in a small dish and serve with sandwich.
Enjoy!

You can find a similar recipe from Shirley J here.

Time for a Toddler Bed?

I started thinking about a bed today, a toddler bed to be exact.
Brody's bed is a lifestyle crib, it will convert into a toddler bed, a day bed and a full sized bed. He is still in the crib but we had to lower it as far as it will go because we caught him kneeling on top, ready to fall. Actually, Travis had to rig it to lower it even more than the standard settings would allow.

So my question for you is, when did your kids start in a toddler bed?
How did you make the transition?

Come back next week when I will have an exciting new giveaway!

Last Day to Enter Giveaway

I just want to remind everyone that today is the last day
to enter the Shirley J giveaway!

Playing Outside

This little boy can't seem to get enough outside play time. We could spend all day and night outside playing and it just wouldn't be enough for him.

Brody loves to play on this old toy tractor. It doesn't have a seat anymore but that makes it easier for Brody to sit on anyways.

Any recommendations for a good sunscreen? I wish I could find one that was more like a lotion and not so thick and greasy.

Little Stinker Baby Butt Spray Review and Giveaway

I first heard about Little Stinker Baby Butt Spray a few months ago. The name caught my eye.
I got the chance to try it out for myself when I found a sample in my swag bag at the Casual Bloggers Conference in May.

Being a mom I change a lot of diapers and it is not a pleasant thing. You moms know what I am talking about right? It's not just the stinky diaper. It's the lingering smell that stays in the room, on the baby's bum and in the diaper pail. Not that Little Stinker makes changing diapers fun because really, what could do that? But it does make the task easier.

Little Stinker's blend of vanilla and lavender will help eliminate the odor from a baby's diaper. Spray it it the room, the diaper pail or even on your baby's bum. It's very moisturizing so it will not only freshen your baby's tush but it will soften it too.

I have really come to love this product and will continue to use it on my baby's bum.

You can purchase Baby Butt Spray on the Little Stinker website.

Little Stinker is giving away one bottle of Little Stinker Baby Butt Spray and a $10 Target gift card to one lucky winner!

White Vinegar

There are so many uses for white distilled vinegar that I want to share with you. I think I will spread these tips throughout a few posts. Some of these tips you may already know and use but hopefully some will be new.

-Make nail polish last longer by wiping fingernails with a cotton ball that has been dipped in white distilled vinegar before painting nails.

-Clean sticky scissors with a cloth that has been dipped in white distilled vinegar.

-Deodorize the garbage disposal by pouring 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup hot white distilled vinegar into disposal. Let sit for 5 minutes. Run disposal with hot water.

Shirley J Review and Giveaway

Last week Shirley J sent me some of their Onion Seasoning, Pizza & Pasta Seasoning Mix and BBQ Sauce Mix from their gourmet line to try.

I have enjoyed using the Shirley J Universal Sauce, I love how easy and convenient it makes cooking so I was excited to try more Shirley J products.

The first thing I made was a Root Beer BBQ Sauce. Now I usually don't care for sauce while eating my meat. I prefer things on the plain side, with that said I loved the root beer BBQ sauce! I couldn't get enough. I even gave some to Brody and he loved it, he wanted to eat it with a spoon.
It takes five minutes to make and the only ingredients you need are Shirley J's BBQ Sauce Mix and root beer.
I love that I don't have to worry about shelf life, it will last over 30 years in the pantry and it's so easy I can whip up fresh BBQ sauce in five minutes.

We are big meat eaters in my family and love our steak (my husband is a butcher), So I wanted to try out the steak butter made from Shirley J Pizza & Pasta Seasoning Mix. It was very fast and easy to make. It was a delicious compliment to our steaks.
The Pizza & Pasta Seasoning Mix has a great flavor that is very versatile. Not only does it make a yummy pasta sauce it tastes great as a rub or a seasoning for vegetables.

The Shirley J Onion Season is the perfect seasoning to have on hand. Add it to your Au Jus, pot roast, soup or make onion dip. This week I am going to make some Onion Tartlets.

The more Shirley J products I try, the more I love them! They are all so versatile, convenient and taste great!

Next on my list to try Shirley J Hawaiian BBQ Meatballs

You can buy Shirley J products on the Shirley J website, through an Executive Chef or in their store.

Father's Day Wallets

My niece and I made these paper wallets to hold a gift card for Father's Day.
They are super easy to make. You can make them as simple or as decorative as you want. We opted for a simple style.

Here are the supplies you will need.

paper
scissors
Tape, glue or glue dots
Gift card

Directions
1) Cut a 8 1/2 x 3 1/4 inch strip of paper. Double sided paper looks best.
2) Fold that paper in half so it resembles a wallet.
3) Take the scissors and trim the corners so they are rounded.
4) To make pockets you will cut two 3 7/8 x 1 1/2 inch strips of paper.
5) adhere them the the wallet by placing one on each side of the wallet near the bottom. Make sure to center them. If you would like you can cut them to make them more decorative.
6) Trace your gift card on a piece of paper and cut to use as a gift card.
7)Place the gift card in one pocket and the card in the other.

You may need to adjust your pocket sizes for larger gift cards.

Send me pictures of your wallet gift card holders. I would love to see them!
