Freshly Picked Moccs Review and Giveaway!

A few weeks ago I was sent a pair of Freshly Picked Moccasins to try out. I had heard about their quality and was excited to check it out first hand. I have to say I was very impressed with not only the quality of leather but also the craftsmanship as well! Seriously you guys, these moccasins are amazing!

Most of the time I am so busy chasing after my two girls that I don't even bother with shoes because they almost always just fall off but that is NOT the case with Freshly Picked Moccs. These babies stay on! They are designed with elastic at the opening that keeps them in place. No more losing shoes and no more cold feet because a shoe fell off.

The moccasins run true to size and go all the way up to size 10 so they are not just for babies, big kids can wear them too. I wish I would have had some when my little ones were newborns too.

Okay now that you know how awesome Freshly Picked Moccasins are you can have a chance to win a pair for your own kid!

Baby Must Haves 0-5 Months

1) Diaper Genie- I am so glad I have this, especially with two babies! The Diaper Genie keeps the girls room from smelling of stinky diapers and I don't have to make as many trips to the garbage.
2) We love the Bumbo seat! The girls do too, they love being able to sit up and see things from a different view.
3) Aden + Anais blankets are the perfect weight for these hot summer days.
4) Boon Grass Drying Rack
5) My favorite onesies are by far Carter's! They are soft, durable and can usually be found on sale.
6) I love Johnson's Baby Cream. It's much thicker than the regular lotion and keeps babies skin super soft.

What are some of your favorite baby items?

Pregnant With Twins: 37 Weeks

I am finally nearing the end of this pregnancy! Only a few more days until I get to meet these two little girls that have been growing inside of me. It's weird to think that in just a few short days my family is going to grow from three to five. It's even weirder to try and imagine how much our lives are going to change.

I am feeling a little nervous but mostly just excited. I don't feel so overwhelmed thanks to all the advice of mother's with multiples I have received, the books I have read, knowing we have lots of help from family, all the preparations we have made for the girls arrival and knowing what a blessing this is.

I am not going to lie, at this point in my pregnancy it is HARD! Everyday it gets a little harder too. Last week my doctor measured me and I am measuring 49 weeks. 49 weeks!
Just moving from room to room is painful let alone trying to do anything else. Oh and the pregnancy carpal tunnel, I can't wait for that to go away! My hands are painfully numb the majority of everyday.

What do you pack in your hospital bag?

Pregnant With Twins: 35 Weeks

Only TWO more weeks until my c-section!
Besides me feeling extremely uncomfortable my doctor says the babies and I are doing great. I could really go into labor at any time, but my doctor thinks I will most likely make it to my scheduled c-section.

I have pretty much everything all ready except a few things for my hospital bag but they are things I use daily and won't pack until I have to. I figure it's best to be as ready as possible considering I won't really know what to expect with twin babies until they are here.

I only have 1 more doctor appointment and 1 non stress test left!

Moms of twins and multiples, what advice do you have for me?

Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails- Baby Shower Favor

Finding ideas for baby shower favors is hard. Even Pinterest didn't have many ideas.
I was in charge of the favor for a shower for my soon to be great nephew (I can't believe I am going to be a great aunt, I am only 32) and this is what I came up with.

Pregnant With Twins: 33 Weeks

I am now in count down mode. Only 29 days until my scheduled c section. Only 29 more days of being SO pregnant. Only 29 days until I meet my baby girls. Unless I go into labor first.

I have had two non stress tests and both showed the babies doing well. I also had another ultrasound yesterday and both babies are now head down, no wonder I feel so much pressure down there.
One baby weighs 4.3 pounds and the other 4.7 pounds.

Travis and I have started talking more seriously about baby names but don't want to decide for sure until we see the girls.

I have really started to slow down and don't leave the house too much. When I do leave the house I am so worn out afterwards. Luckily Brody has been really good for me. He likes to tell me to go sit on my bed and then he will bring toys on my bed for me to play with him. He loves playing in my room. One of Brody's favorite games is pretending my bed is a train, he brings his stuffed animals in to ride the train and makes us give him tickets before he drives us to some made up place. I am glad that I can still play and interact with Brody while giving my body the rest it needs.

What baby products or gadgets can you not live without?

Pregnant With Twins: Week 32

It is official, I am way bigger now than I was when I delivered Brody. Every week I think to myself, can I really get any bigger? But the answer is always yes!

Yesterday I had another doctor appointment and everything looks great! Next week is my first non-stress test and then I will have them weekly until the babies are born. I see the doctor again in two weeks and from that point on I will see him weekly until the babies are born.

I have started counting down the days until my scheduled c-section. Only 41 more days! Of course my doctor gave the impression that I could go into labor any time now.

The cribs were delivered this week and are all set up and I am in the process of getting everything all organized in the babies room. I am so glad I finished painting months ago.

Brody is getting really excited for the girls to come. I love that he calls them "the girls" or "the girlies". He likes to rub my belly and tell me the girls like that. He also will say hi to my belly so the girls can hear him. He tells me when they are born he will be best friends with his sisters.

Question for you: If you had a c-section did you watch? What did you think?
I am considering watching the c-section to see my babies born.

Pregnant With Twins: 28 Weeks

I am getting closer to the end of this pregnancy! I can say that because yesterday my doctor had me schedule my c-section. I can't believe how close I am getting.
I feel both nervous and excited. I am excited to meet my two baby girls, for Brody to be a big brother (which he has been so thrilled about) and to watch our family grow. I am nervous because as much as I try and prepare myself, I really have no idea how what to really expect.

My ultrasound showed the babies are doing really well and I am showing no signs of premature labor, which means no official bed red as of right now. Of course my doctor wants me to start to take it really easy and even ordered Travis to do the laundry and vacuuming.
One of the babies weighs 2.3 pounds while the other weighs 2.6 pounds and both are VERY active.
I am starting to have doctor appointments every two weeks now and starting in January I will be taking non-stress tests every week.

Twins!

During the last 24 hours the word twins has been running through my head constantly. You see yesterday I found out that I am indeed pregnant with twins!

Yesterday I went to my doctor for my first prenatal appointment. My doctor did a quick ultrasound so we could see the baby's heart beat but were surprised to see two heart beats.

Now that the shock has worn off (at least most of it) we are really excited! Of course I have already gone into "planning mode" and already have a few lists of things I need to buy, do, etc.

I want to answer a few questions we have been asked already

- We did NOT have any fertility treatments

- Twins do run in my family (my dad is a twin)

-  We don't know if they are identical or fraternal twins yet although they are most likely fraternal

Time for a Toddler Bed?

I started thinking about a bed today, a toddler bed to be exact.
Brody's bed is a lifestyle crib, it will convert into a toddler bed, a day bed and a full sized bed. He is still in the crib but we had to lower it as far as it will go because we caught him kneeling on top, ready to fall. Actually, Travis had to rig it to lower it even more than the standard settings would allow.

So my question for you is, when did your kids start in a toddler bed?
How did you make the transition?

Come back next week when I will have an exciting new giveaway!

Tips on Brushing Your Baby's Teeth

We have had a hard time getting Brody to brush his teeth.
He fought it hard for a long time.
Now he loves brushing his teeth. I thought I would share what we did to help Brody love his toothbrush.
Feel free to add your thoughts or tips.

1) We made sure he saw us brushing our teeth

2) When I caught him watching me brushing my teeth I pulled out his toothbrush to let him try

3) I let him play with his toothbrush so it wasn't such a scary thing

4) I make sure to put lots of water on his toothbrush
He loves to slurp up the water

5) Brody loves to clap his hands and say yay when he does something good. We made sure to always clap our hands and say yay after brushing his teeth.

*Our doctor also suggested getting a mechanical tooth brush, I guess kids like the way they feel.
*Our dentist told us we don't have to worry about using tooth paste just yet.

What tips do you have to share?
