No Tie Shoes

When shopping for shoes for Brody I like to look for easy on shoes, shoes that don't require my help putting them on. Here are some of my favorite easy on shoes for boys.

1) Vans Classic Slip-on
2) Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Simple Slip
3) Superga Kids 2750 JVEL Classic
4) Saucony Baby Jazz
5) Kangaroos Combat Basic
6) Vans Old Skool V Core
7) Puma Kids Whirlwind shoes
8) Sperry Top-Sider
9) Kangaroos Combat Retro

I am a big fan of Van slip on shoes and Saucony Jazz with Velcro. Brody loves them too.

Which ones do you like best?

Felt Flower Corsage Tutorial

Earlier this week I showed you how to make felt flowers so that you can make this corsage.
I made them earlier this year with a group of 10 and 11 year old girls from my neighborhood for Mother's Day.
They are really easy and fun to make.
I think they would be fun for other special occasions like birthdays, graduations, etc.

Okay, let's get started.
You will need: felt flowers (I used 3), felt leaves, a small piece of felt, hot glue gun, scissors and ribbon.

Arrange the flowers on the small piece of felt.
Once you have decided on the arrangement add the felt leaf.
Next you will glue the flowers and leaf to the small piece of felt, using a generous amount of glue.
Let dry.

Tip: glue the flowers one at a time so you won't mess up your arrangement.
Once the glue is dry remove the extra felt by cutting around the flowers. Get as close as you can.

You're almost done, now all you need to do is add two pieces of ribbon to the back side of the corsage.

Now you have a fun corsage!

Spring Fling- Spring Necklace

Sachiko from Tea Rose Home

Hi everyone! I am Sachiko from Tea Rose Home. I am so excited to be featured here today. On my blog I share many sewing, craft ideas, and tutorials. One of my most popular posts are t-shirts makeovers. Also, I host link parties every Wednesday; I hope you will come to visit and join the fun!
Recently, I took my beloved sewing machine to the shop for a checkup and didn't have it for two weeks. I decided to work on some jewelry making projects during those two weeks. I made Crochet Beads Necklace and Bring Me Flowers necklace.
The one I am sharing with you today is the April Necklace. The area where I live started getting some warmer days. I can feel that spring is near, but not quite yet... I love winter, but I am ready for change, some sunshine and a warm breeze, spring.

I long for spring, and designed this necklace with that in mind. Pastel colors, glass beads, and airy gauze to make the necklace.

I made the flower corsage removable, so I can wear it with or without the flowers. I love things that are versatile, who wouldn't like a 2 in 1 item! :)

Do you see that I am pretty happy? I am thinking about all the possibilities of what I can wear this necklace with.

It is surprising that one piece of jewelry can give an old wardrobe new life. I know this necklace will be used a lot in the coming season.
Do you have jewelry that makes you smile? What is your plan for your spring wardrobe?

Hats

Because my son has a big infatuation for hats I am always on the look out for new hats.
His favorite being a fedora hat. I like to call them gentlemen hats though.
1001 Fedora Hats was a great place for me to start looking.
They carry fedoras for all seasons and are available in men’s, women’s and children’s sizes.

Blue plaid fedora
Brown twill fedora

Once I started looking at hats I realized I should look into getting a sun hat for me for this summer.
I found a big selection of sun hats at the Sun Hat Shop.
They have those big floppy hats that are perfect for lounging at the pool.

Ribbon crusher large brim hat
Ultra braid hat

Both companies are a part of 1001 Shops.  They offer free UPS ground shipping with in the United States and Canada. Gotta love free shipping, right?

What to Wear to a Christmas Party

Kristin from Bon Bon Rose Girls is guest posting today to share with us what to wear to a Christmas party!

If you've read my blog, BonBon Rose Girls, y'all know I'm a fan of getting all dolled up! So, you can only imagine how excited I get about the holiday season. With holiday soirees, dinners, get togethers etc. to attend, there are usually mucho opportunities to throw on a pretty dress!

Now that I'm the harried mama of a wild child toddler, I don't get dressed up nearly as often as I'd like to. Happily, the holidays have provided me with more than one dress up occasion! All I can say is three cheers for holiday parties! Here is my dream party outfit. It consists of a fun, flirty frock, super gorgeous pumps and a splash of color provided by the earrings. Speaking of earrings...Over at our blog we love a good bargain, hence why we have our nearly daily feature the BonBon Deal of the Day...And these earrings are definitely a deal at less than $6.00!

I just love adding an unexpected color element to a fairly neutral palette. I did so recently with a pair of red chandelier earrings for my birthday celebration! So, now that I've shown you mine, I would love to hear about your dream holiday party looks!
