It's Just Another Stylin Sunday

Today was a long day! We had to wake up at 5:00 am to make it on time to our hot air balloon ride. The ride was so cool! I would recommend everyone go on one.

29 Things

Tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 29 years old.

Here is my list of 29 things to do before I turn 30.

1) Get Brody's scrap book up to date. This is going to be a big project because I have so many pictures of him.

2) Send out a family Christmas card.

3) Read the Book of Mormon.

4) Go on a carriage ride. I have been trying to get Travis to take me on a carriage ride for a few years. This year it will happen!

5) Read every book in book club. Even the ones I know I wont like.

6) Get my eyes checked. I swear my eyes have gotten worse since being pregnant. Beth (Trav's mama) is always teasing me about getting my eyes checked.

7) Start using the library more. I usually just buy books but that really adds up. I could save a lot of money using the library.

8) Start a savings account for Brody. I would like to contribute to his savings every single month.

9) Clean all the carpets in the house.

10) Ride on TRAX. I know this kind of sounds silly but I haven't been on TRAX before so why not?

11) Go to a fair. I don't care if its the State our countyfair, I just really want to go.

12)Learn how to make gnocchi. Gnocchi is my all time favorite pasta and I have wanted to learn how to make it forever.

13) Get my eye lashes tinted. I have done this before and I love the way it looks.

14) Design my own fabric. From the moment I heard about Spoonflower I have been wanting to design my own fabric. I am not artistic at all so I might recruit Travis' help.

15) Get a skin cancer screening. I really should have started doing this years ago. I am going to make Travis do this too.

16) Take a photography class. Another thing from last years list that I didn't complete.

17) Plan a trip out of the country.

18) Finish my quilt.

19) Finish decorating Brody's room. Brody's room is basically finished except some small details.

20) Make a quiet book.

21) Read 18 books.

22) Start a "cash only" budget.

23) Ride on the Alpine Slide.

24) Go snow shoeing. I have been dying to do this for years! I just need to make someone go with me.

25) Go hiking. This was on last years list but this year I am not pregnant and I have a new back pack to lug Brody in.

26) Make a cake from scratch. I always make cakes from mixes so I thought I should give this one a try.

27) Go off carbonation for 6 months. This really shouldn't be too hard for me. I am more of a water or lemonade girl anyways.

28) Donate/sell/throw away at least 5 things a month. I need to do some major de-junking and hopefully this will help me.

29) Start next years list.

Kitty

These days Kitty is quite concerned with Brody. She is always peeking in on him in his crib. She also runs to check on him when he cries.
Silly Kitty!

Random

Sometimes I like watching previews just as much as the feature film.

Finger Food Plates

How cool are these Finger Food plates?
I would love to host a party with these little plates.

Ghostwriter

Do you remember the tv show Ghostwriter?

I thought it was such a cool show.

This Weekend

I spent the weekend at my family's cabin in Flaming Gorge. I love it there!
I played lots of games (I won all but one game) and relaxed even more.
I didn't get as much sleep as I would have liked. Brody has been liking to roll over in his sleep and he wakes up screaming. Not fun.

I got a chance to paint my toe nails along with some of my nieces.
I got to hang out with Gina and Kim.
Brody got lots and lots of attention (like he is ever short of that).

I got to spend hours chatting with Travis in the car.
I ate lots of yummy food.
Overall it was a great weekend.

C3PO Toy

Cute Aunt Mandy bought Brody these Star Wars toys when she went to Disneyland last year.

Brody loves to play with them. His favorite is C3PO.

Mail Sorter

I think I need to get this mail sorter for my mom. Every time I look at her pile of mail overflowing in a basket I cringe.
I just love organization!

28 Things List Recap

Last year on my birthday I made a list of 28 things to do before I turned 29. I didn't complete all of them so I may just add them to this years list (coming soon). Anyways, here is a little recap of how I did.

I have completed the things in red

The things in orange I will complete soon.

1) Learn to drive the Vino
I am sure I can take a few minutes to do this next week.

2) Take a photography class
This is so not happening before my birthday.

3) Write a will
I have started on this but need to add a few details and have it notarized.

4) Go on a hot air balloon ride
Trav and I are planning on doing this for my birthday next week.

5) Go to the Wyoming downs

6) Take a cooking class from Lugano
Planning on doing this in June

7) Finish that quilt I have been working on since 2005
I have actually finished the squares but have a ways to go.

8) Get caught up on my scrap book

9) Go to Europe or Australia
I am thinking of doing this next year.

10) Read {at least} 12 books

11) Stay at a bed and breakfast

12) Ride the Alpine slide
Hopefully this summer.

13) Try out at least 10 new recipes

14) Buy a new camera

23) Make some quiet books

24) Write more letters

25) Read my favorite Roald Dahl books

26) Eat at the Crab Cooker

27) Get back into running
More like I run intervals (doesn't that sound better then saying I walk/run because I don't have any stamina?)

28) Eat dinner in Millcreek Canyon

Teepee

I loved playing in the teepee at my church nursery when I was little.
I thought it was about the coolest thing ever!

I decided I need to make one for Brody when he is a little bigger. I even found an easy tutorial here.

Don't you just love my knee socks?

Lego Candles

I am loving these Lego candles (they are actually called building block candles because they aren't made by Lego).
Too bad they aren't smaller or I would buy them for a birthday cake.

Sick Brody

I have officially made it through my first throw up experience with Brody. I have to say I handled it way better than I thought I would. Normally smelling throw up makes me want to puke but I dealt with it. Travis was not at home when it happened so I had to deal with most of it myself. I did call him to come home though.

I am so glad I have a husband to help!

Poor Brody had a rough day yesterday! He had his shots, had an eye infection and then the throw up. He didn't even cry when he got sick, he just whimpered. I snuggled him up in my arms after cleaning him up and he just sat there and stared at me. Poor guy!

He is already back to his usual happy self though.

6 month stats

17.6 lbs 48%

26.75 inches 57%

Ice Cream on a Stick

I love this idea of ice cream on a stick.
Now you can spend more time having fun instead of scooping ice cream during your next party.

The International Spy Museum

I really want to go to the International Spy Museum in Washington DC. The museum is the only public spy museum in the United States. There you can learn about the history of espionage, how spies are recruited and trained and anything else (non classified) spy related. There you can see real spy artifacts such as shoe phones, miniature cameras, lipstick pistols etc...

They even have a gift shop that sells cool things like this spy wrist camera.

6 Months

Brody turned 6 months old last week!
Brody is such a happy boy. It's not hard to make him smile.
Brody is learning how to sit up on his own.
He raises his arms up high when he is excited.
His cute red hair is filling in more.
Brody is super ticklish, especially on his back.
He loves eating fruit and is working on liking vegetables.
He thinks it's funny when I sing to him.
He will only cuddle when he is drinking a bottle or falling asleep.
He loves to play with his C3PO toy.
He loves to jump up and down on my lap.
Brody loves looking at ceiling fans.
He is always saying bababa.
His feet always entertain him.

Disneyland

picture taken in front of small world 2006

I am off to California in the morning. I will be back in a few days.
While I am gone I will be going to Disneyland! I will most likely be doing all of my favorite things there.
