The Weekend

I ate a yummy Boston crab melt sandwich here.
I went to the Oh Sweet Sadie! show in Day Break.
I bought a silly pillow tie for my brother.
I started getting ready for my California trip.





Brody wore his cute Space Invaders pjs for the first time.
I watched The Reader, then realized I had read the book a long time ago.
I played the 90's game.
I made chicken mignon.
I was able to sit through all of sacrament meeting thanks to Julie, Kelli and Mark.
I played crazy eights with Travis. I won!

Baby Food

We started Brody on baby food a few weeks ago.
We started with rice cereal. Hated it.
Then we moved on to vegetables. Hated them.
Then I tried fruit. Ding ding we have a winner!
I think it is funny that Travis and I HATE fruit but Brody loves it.
I have been doing a little trick my sister taught me, I give Brody a taste of fruit and then a taste of veggies. It's quite tricky and gets him to eat them.

NY Souvenir Cards

I love this set of New York souvenir post cards. You mail them off as a post card and then the recipient can cut them out to make a 3d paper model.
Pretty cool!

Trains

Yesterday I went to my local library book sale. I got a few 2008 travel books for about a quarter each.
One of my favorite books I got was USA by Rail. I decide I have to go on a train trip.
I have been on plenty of trains in Europe, but not in the US.

Astronaut Ice Cream

Have you ever had astronaut ice cream? I use to eat it when I was little. I loved going to Gregory's toy store with Jenny across the street (that's what I actually called her) and her mom would always buy the ice cream for us.

Flat Head Syndrome

Plagiocephaly, also known as flat head syndrome is becoming more and more common. Plagiocephaly is a medical condition that occurs in infants and is characterized by the flattening on one side of the head.
Though there are other causes, most people attribute the Back to Sleep Campaign as the major contributor to flat head syndrome.
Brody has Plagiocephaly because he had Torticollis, a tightening in his neck muscle that limited his range of motion. Therefore he would rest his head in the same spot causing it to flatten.
He had to go to physical therapy to correct it but he was still left with a slight flat spot.



We purchased the Infant Head Bed to aid in Brody's treatment. It has made a significant difference. His head is rounding out more every day.
The infant pillow is specially designed to help cradle a baby's head and prevent the flattening of the head. It is one of the few FDA approved infant pillows out there.
I know I will use this for all of my babies to prevent plagiocephaly.

5 Months

Brody turned 5 months old today!
This last month Brody graduated from physical therapy. The shape of his head is a little flat but we have a special pillow for him. It's getting better everyday!
Brody consistently sleeps 11-12 hours a night and is still a good napper. Sometimes I will wake up early in the morning to him talking in his sleep.
Brody hates eating cereal!
He is always grabbing for things, he loves to reach out and grab my face. If he gets his finger in my mouth he giggles.
Brody is always quick with a smile or laugh for his daddy.
Brody is such a happy little baby!
